      MA Internship Opportunity

      Are you looking for a rewarding new career in healthcare? IHA is offering a debt-free opportunity for individuals who are interested in gaining the education, skills, knowledge and experience as they earn while they learn to complete an accredited Medical Assistant program.

      IHA will cover the cost of tuition, books, and credentials for those who are interested in joining our team to earn while they learn. We even provide free scrubs!

      IHA’s MA Internship program is supported by highly-trained clinical preceptors and is supplemented with hands-on training, clinical experience, mentoring and classroom education. Individuals will earn while they learn as they split their time between completing coursework and gaining practical experience working in our medical practices.

      What is offered with this program?

      • Completion of an accredited training program with no out of pocket cost
      • Dedicated time and space to complete course work under the guidance and support of a clinical proctor at our administrative offices in Ann Arbor
      • At the elbow support with a clinical preceptor in one of our medical practices
      • Completion of an externship
      • On the job training
      • Gain your Medical Assistant credentials by taking a national Medical Assistant credentialing exam (cost of exam is included in this program)

      This is a paid program, where you will earn while you learn!

      • Starting pay is $16.00 per hour and we offer a comprehensive benefits package!

      Additional pay adjustment opportunities:

      • Upon completion of and graduation from the program (time to complete and graduate is approximately 12 weeks)
      • Upon attainment of Medical Assistant credentials

      What do Medical Assistants do?

      As part of the frontline healthcare team, Medical Assistants are essential to providing great care to our patients. They help prepare patients for examination, measure vital signs, track patient information, documenting in the medical record, assisting with in-office procedures and testing, administering medications and providing patient and caregiver education. Medical Assistants provide administrative support and work closely with doctors and nurses.

      Qualifications:

      • High School diploma or GED required
      • Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English
      • Proficiency in the use of computer programs (e.g. web-based training platforms, general computer proficiency)
      • Available to work full-time, Monday through Friday (32 - 40 hours per week)
      • Continued employment after intern program as a long term Medical Assistant with IHA
