What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Prepare examination rooms and position patients for examinations by physicians
- Take patient histories and check vital signs, including pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height
- Operate medical equipment, such as EKG machines, and administer prescribed treatments
- Maintain medical records and perform secretarial functions, including typing reports and completing insurance forms
- Serve as a receptionist, directing calls and scheduling appointments
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Medical Assistant or related healthcare training program
- Ability to work a defined schedule and accommodate overtime as required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills for patient interaction and administrative duties
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems
- Additional certifications related to medical assisting or patient care
