Job Description

- Prepare rooms and/or patients for examination by providers
- Gather and document patient information per policy. Complete employee/patient screening including: patient blood pressure, weight, pulse, temperature and/or respiration and document pain level as indicated by patient.
- Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling medical records, outgoing referrals and filing documents.
- Remove sutures/staples from superficial incisions and lacerations
- Apply and removes bandages, dressings, orthopedic appliances such as knee immobilizers and similar devices.
- Administer specifically approved medications and injections.
- Communicate patient needs to provider, clinical lead or supervisor.
- High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) or Completion of a CMC Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
- Completion of a course of study consistent with the requirements for Medical Assistants as specified by the Medical Board of California required
- 3 months of experience in the medical field required
- BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA)
- Training in giving injections preferred
Overview
*All positions are located in Fresno/Clovis CA*
As a Medical Assistant in one of our provider offices, you are integral to the flow of the medical office. You will assist medical center staff in providing medical or technical procedures and assist with patient flow and care. Specific duties include taking vital signs, giving handouts, graphing height, weight, blood-pressure, giving injections and ensuring that appropriate tests are completed prior to doctor’s examination.
