What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Monitor all research functions within the Claims Department
- Research and respond to written and verbal inquiries from members and providers
- Handle complaints and act as a liaison to providers for special claims handling
- Process and adjust inpatient and outpatient medical claims
- Identify errors and inconsistencies that require revisions to claim guidelines or system modifications
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School diploma plus specialized, short-term training in claims processing
- Minimum three years of experience in medical claims processing
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in person, via telephone, and in writing
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in case management, transplants, negotiations, or coordination of benefits
- Knowledge of online policies and procedures for claims processing
