What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform coding quality audits of medical records to ensure accurate assignment of ICD-10-CM codes
- Review provider documentation to identify clinical documentation gaps and deliver educational sessions
- Utilize medical coding software to analyze and evaluate clinic documentation associated with diagnosis codes
- Provide ongoing feedback to physicians regarding coding guidelines and support improvement in HCC coding and RAF scoring
- Assist in developing workflow and training materials for clinical documentation and risk adjustment activities

What is Required (Qualifications):
- AAPC or AHIMA coding credentials (e.g., CRC, CPC, CCS) are required
- Minimum three years of medical coding experience, with Medicare HCC risk coding experience strongly preferred
- Experience in CMS risk adjustment audits is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM diagnosis and guidelines, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Strong communication, interpersonal, prioritizing, and organizational skills

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Understanding of HCC models v24 and v28
- Familiarity with claims and encounter data processes
- Fluency in languages other than English is an asset
