What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform extensive insurance claim follow-ups for denials, appeals, and necessary next steps
- Utilize multiple patient accounting and billing applications, including claims clearinghouse systems and payer websites
- Interact with payer representatives, HIM, Insurance Verification, and Access Service departments
- Present information regarding denial trends effectively to management
- Conduct timely denial reviews and claim follow-ups in accordance with payer filing limits
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma
- 3 to 5 years of previous experience in an office billing and collections environment
- Strong medical insurance background with knowledge of billing terms, CPT/ICD10 coding, and DRG
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Minimum of three years’ experience specifically in medical collections
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in spine/orthopedic surgery
- Familiarity with EPIC systems
- Prior experience in hospital billing and collections
