      Job summary

      The Medical Device Analyst post is responsible for managing, analysing, and optimising medical device usage, maintenance, and compliance within the Whittington NHS Health Trust. The role ensures that medical equipment is properly maintained, cost-effective, and compliant with regulatory requirements.

      Main duties of the job

      Device Management & Analysis

      o Maintain an up-to-date inventory of medical devices.

      o Analyse equipment performance, utilization, and lifecycle data.

      o Identify trends in device failures and recommend improvements.

      2. Maintenance & Compliance Oversight

      o Monitor planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules.

      o Ensure compliance with NHS, CQC, MHRA, and OEM maintenance requirements.

      o Work with internal teams and external vendors to resolve maintenance issues.

      3. Contract & Vendor Management

      o Support procurement and management of OEM and third-party service contracts.

      o Track service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).

      o Assist in negotiations for cost-effective maintenance solutions.

      4. Technical & Financial Reporting

      o Provide data-driven reports on device reliability, downtime, and costs.

      o Support with the Trusts RFID asset tracking system

      o Assist in budgeting and forecasting for medical device expenditures.

      o Support capital planning for equipment replacement and upgrades.

      5. Stakeholder Collaboration

      o Liaise with clinical teams to understand equipment needs and challenges.

      o Work with biomedical engineering teams for technical support.

      o Coordinate and support with finance and procurement teams on purchasing decisions.

      2. Extensive experience of Clinical Engineering asset management databases

      3. Ability to accurately analyse and manage large quantities of asset and related data, including service schedules, repair data, contracts, documents, training data, etc

      4. Able to construct and understand SQL queries

      5. Advanced knowledge of MS Office

      6. Advanced Excel user

      7. Advanced Access user

      8. Create / maintain custom databases with MS Access

      9. Create and maintain audit spreadsheets

      10.Data analysis / Provision of KPI data

      11.Create graphs and charts from Excel / Access data

      12.Provide reports for all levels of management covering KPIs for Medical Physics and Medical Devices Training
