      Job Description

      The Medical Director is a key role within the US Oncology Medical Affairs organization. Reporting directly to the [Medical Head or Medical Group Lead], this position is accountable for the execution of medical plans with either specific or multiple indications within a specified disease area.

      Job Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

      • Support Medical plan through coordinating the development of the iMAP, execution of key projects, and tracking budget spend
      • Support the Launch Readiness Reviews (LRR) by coordinating and supervising pre-launch activities and ensuring timely execution of the endorsed LRR plan
      • Influence the Field Engagement plan by synthesizing field insights into useful tactics, sharing with the business, and modifying plans as vital
      • Complete all MALT (Medical Affairs Leadership Team) directives as requested
      • Support quarterly iMAP reviews at the Core Medical Team (CMT) in collaboration with the Medical Lead
      • Support the Promotional Materials Review Team (PMRT) by reviewing derivative content
      • Provide cross-functional coverage by supporting the Medical Lead on the CMT and lead WGs as appropriate
      • Responsible for driving and supervising KEEs/External engagement plans and follow-up to ensure maximum engagement and impact
      • Implement effective Advisory Boards by independently setting meeting objectives, and discussion guides and leading communications with vendors
      • Implement Medical projects while staying within scope and budget
      • Lead congress planning activities, insight gathering, and communications and partner with Field leadership to ensure pull-through at the event
      • Conduct evidence publication reviews and Medical Education Grants Office (MEGO) selection
      • Facilitates patient insight knowledge sharing by raising awareness about patient insight strategies and activities with regions, countries, and allied functions
      • Helps build patient insight capability by working closely with Medical Affairs colleagues on research alliance initiatives, capability development programs, and tools/technology initiatives
      • Responsible for adhering to all required ethical and compliance standards as determined by the organization and/or market within the role operates

      Essential Requirements:

      • A Doctorate in Medicine (M.D, D.O), PhD or PharmD degrees or equivalent will be considered plus relevant experience
      • A minimum of 3+ years of related work experience in industry, clinical or research institution, preferably in oncology, rare disease, or related experiences
      • 3+ years of Medical Affairs experience
      • Experience in relationship and partner management (3P’S-Payer, Provider, and Patients)
      • Project and relationship management experience
      • Experience with Evidence generation and clinical trial methodology
      • Business Insight foundation knowledge
      • Financial Management foundation knowledge

      Preferred Requirements:

      • Doctorate degree, PharmD (MD or equivalent) with Oncology specialization or Ph.D. in Sciences preferred
      • HQ Medical Affairs experience within the pharmaceutical industry
      • Understanding of the latest technical, regulatory, policy, and real-world evidence-generation dimensions
      • Budget management experience
      • Experience delivering country medical affairs plans
