      Job summary

      We are seeking an experienced adviser to join our Medical Education Team. You will be required to support the work of The Medical Education Team as one of three advisors, each responsible for different areas. The advertised role will be responsible for Postgraduate Education including Junior Doctor Induction and updating of ESR for core mandatory training, GPVTS, supporting IMT programme, attending and minute taking at Medical Education Committee, clinical observers and medical work experience and cross cover for all other areas. Responsibilities include administrative duties, database administration and teaching programme support. As such this post represents a real opportunity for people wishing to pursue a career in administration or the management of education.

      You will be educated to degree level, have good IT skills and be able to work as part of a team. Administrative experience in an education setting and knowledge of medical education would be desirable.

      Main duties of the job

      The post holder will be responsible for Postgraduate Education including Junior Doctor Induction, Simulation courses, supporting IMT programme, attending and minute taking at Medical Education Committee, clinical observers and medical work experience and cross cover for all other areas. Working within the Medical Education Department which is a small team of 3 advisers, one Medical Education Manager and Head of Medical Education. We also work closely with the Simulation and Clinical Skills Team, who we share an office with.

      The role includes providing specialist advise to internal and external stakeholders, liaison and pastoral care for doctors, problem solving and troubleshooting issues that arise, the coordination of a range of training programmes, preparing and coordinating inductions, coordinating educational meetings, teaching sessions, processing study leave, organising courses, updating core mandatory training for doctors via ESR/OLM platform. The post holder will work closely with other members of the Medical Education Team to facilitate, promote and develop the delivery of Medical Education within the Trust.
