      An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Medical Equipment Library Assistant and to join City Hospitals Independent Commercial Enterprises Ltd. (CHoICE)

      The Medical Equipment Library (MEL) is located within Sunderland Royal Hospital and is operational MonFri from 08:00-17:30 and Sat-Sun from 08:00-16:00. The department is operated by City Hospitals Independent Commercial Enterprises Ltd. (CHoICE). The Team provides a collection, decontamination, delivery and testing of a wide range of medical devices across the Trust. The department also supplies the Trust with antimicrobial dressings and negative pressure dressings along with replenishments for the resuscitation trolleys.

      The successful post-holder will be expected to backfill for sickness and weekends when rostered staff are on leave or due to sickness. Enhanced payments will be awarded for weekend working.

      Main duties of the job

      CHoICE, an independent company, provide all hard and soft facility services to Sunderland and South Tyneside Hospital. The principal sites are South Tyneside Hospital, Sunderland Royal Hospital, Sunderland Eye Infirmary, Durham Treatment Centre and the Childrens Centre with around 1350 acute beds.

      You will form part of the Medical Equipment Library Team of 9 directly employed staff forming part of the Estates Hard FM services within City Hospitals Independent Commercial Enterprises Ltd. The Team provides a collection, decontamination, delivery and testing of a wide range of medical devices across the Trust. The department also supplies the Trust with antimicrobial dressings and negative pressure dressings along with replenishments for the resuscitation trolleys.
