      Job summary

      An exciting permanent opportunity has become available within the Medical Equipment Training and Equipment Library team at King's College Hospital.

      This would suit someone with a background in a supervisory role, or in medical equipment training, in medical equipment library, and in medical equipment workshop service.

      There will be opportunities to supervise a team, provide training, provide training and library support and lead equipment deployment training delivery and projects related to medical equipment management.

      Main duties of the job

      King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK's largest and busiest teaching hospitals with a turnover of c£1 billion, 1.5 million patient contacts a year and more than 11,500 staff based across 5 main sites in South East London. The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services from King's College Hospital (KCH) sites at Denmark Hill in Camberwell and at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in Bromley.

      King's College Hospital NHS Foundation NHS Trust is currently delivering an ambitious financial efficiency programme with the aim to achieve long-term financial sustainability.

      The post holder will work as part of a dedicated MEMS team to provide and develop services across the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) and Orpington or Denmark Hill (DH) sites.

      The Medical Equipment Management Service (MEMS) of the department provides a range of services to the Trust. These services include the care of medical electronic and associated devices, training of staff (Medical Equipment Training) to use medical devices and a loan service for medical devices (Equipment Library).

      Essential

      • Relevant NVQ 4 or diploma (including Maths, English and a science).
      • GCSE A-C grade in Maths and English, or equivalent qualification or equivalent supervised experience.
      • ECDL or equivalent.

      Knowledge and Experience

      Essential

      • Experience of working in a general office environment.
      • Experience of supervising staff.
      • Practitioner experience of administrative and clerical work.
      • Advanced experience on Microsoft Office packages.

      Desirable

      • Experience of operating specialist database.
      • Experience in administration in the NHS.
      • Experience in a helpdesk environment.
      • Experience in operating a Quality System.
      • Experience in an equipment training and/or maintenance environment.
