      We are currently searching for a candidate who can drive strategic planning and execution of the Oncology Business Unit (OBU) projects and accountabilities for the OBU Medical organization with a hyper-focus on promoting a Medical Center of Excellence and interfacing with broader cross-functional teams across OBU. The role will include strategic project oversight, budget management, medical/functional planning, cross-functional partnership, and operational support to the Global Medical Team. This role will report directly to the Director of Medical Excellence Portfolio within the Strategy, Operations & Innovation Team in OBU Medical; and will work closely with the Head of Global MSLE (Medical Science Liaison Excellence) and their respective team.

      The ideal candidate will be expected to work in a highly effective way with peers and medical leaders to develop integrated plans which can be delivered globally and across cross-functional boundaries. The ideal candidates can demonstrate their strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to work collaboratively and act decisively to support the broader goals of OBU Medical as a whole.

      Accountabilities/Responsibilities

      • Partners with the Functional Lead to provide leadership in project ideation to implementation on overarching asset strategies and optimizes global to local interfaces for delivery

      • Manage stakeholders across ongoing initiatives and identify risks, recommend mitigations, and resolve issues to meet timelines

      • Leads effective meeting management for a Function (eg: Global MSL Excellence) on team meetings with clear agendas, concrete action items and tracking of deliverables for on-target submission

      • Facilitates budget planning for the function, including forecasting, phasing and prioritization across the business planning cycle as well as rollup into Long Range Plans (LRPs)

      • Responsible for strategic planning and prioritization of functional team deliverables and high-impact projects (Future of Field Medical, ECLIPSE)

      • Partner with MSLE Leads to drive preparedness and execution of five, monthly Field Medical Leadership Team (FMLT) meetings (one per Tumor Area)

      • Provide coordination and oversight of the OBU MSL Ambassador program (nomination/selection process, development sessions, oversight of congress insight activities, etc.)

      • Co-ordinates across functions & business units to drive MSL reporting metrics and analytics

      • Continuously strives for improvement on ways of working to share best practices to streamline and simplify the business processes.

      • Accountable for implementation of medical standards to ensure compliant functioning of the organization

      Required experience

      • Minimum of 5 years experience in pharmaceutical industry or related health industry

      • Minimum of 2 years experience in Medical Affairs, Commercial and R&D (Global, regional, or local)

      • Understanding of the development and commercialisation of pharmaceutical products

      • Experience of successful influencing cross functionally, cross-culturally and cross-brands

      • Experience of effective working in a multi-cultural, matrixed environment

      • Experience working in a global setting, managing stakeholders within different time zones

      • Experience preparing and/or delivering presentations to executive leadership

      • Experience in planning and leading strategic initiatives

      Preferred Requirements

      • Graduate-level degree in sciences or business degree

      • Six Sigma Medical/Process Excellence and/or Project Management/PMP/FPX certification is a plus but not required

      • Proficient understanding of medical, scientific, and/or commercial pharmaceutical marketplace of Oncology
