- perform laboratory tests on blood, tissues, and other bodily fluids to aid in the diagnosis of diseases and conditions, this may include routine tests as well as specialized tests
- interpret lab test results and identify any abnormalities, ensure the accuracy and reliability of these results to assist doctors in making informed decisions about patient care
- implement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain high standards in laboratory testing, you may also calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
- keep accurate and detailed records of all laboratory tests performed and their results, input data into our laboratory information systems
- ensure all laboratory operations comply with hospital policies, governmental regulations, and accreditation requirements
- Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required
- ASCP certification, or equivalent, required within one year of employment
- Associates Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or completion of coursework in a program for MLT.
- 1 year of hospital laboratory work experience preferred
Overview
We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (PRN), also referred to as a Med Tech at Riverview Regional Medical Center a member of Prime Healthcare. The Medical Lab Technician (MLT) requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team. They play an important role in the diagnostic process, contributing significantly to patient care and treatment. This position is on a per diem (PRN) basis, meaning as needed.

Employment Type: Per Diem (PRN)
Shift Hours: 5:00PM - 5:30AM or 6:00PM - 6:30AM
