      A Brief Overview

      Ideal applicant would be someone who has medical library experience and/or Education, with the ability to perform job duties that include and will support physician groups by assisting with systematic reviews; that has medical research and/or relevant healthcare experience working with providers. This is a hybrid role.

      Participate on CHOP education committees. Provided reference and research services to CHOP staff in-person or via email. Participates in family-centered rounds (in-person at the main CHOP Hospital) and provides real-time reference services to doctors, residents, and medical students.

      Collaborate with the University of Pennsylvania’s Biomedical Library. Track library usage and statistical reports. Develop and maintain access to the CHOP electronic library resources (database, e-journals, e-books, citation management software) to ensure that the selection of content is readily available. Evaluate electronic resources and recommend additional e-resources to establish a well-rounded collection to meet staff needs. Assist staff in searches to support clinical care and medical education.

      What you will do

      • 1.Develop and maintain specialized knowledge of the electronic library’s databases, search interfaces and other online resources
      • 2.Assess, plan, implement, and support the acquisition and maintenance of additional user-focused e-resources through the cultivation of ongoing partnerships with key CHOP constituencies
      • 3.Establish an interlibrary loan program through the National Library of Medicine’s DOCLINE system and/or other means
      • 4.Provide group and individualized training sessions and workshops on the use of all e-resources
      • 5.Participate on CHOP education committees and establish relationships

      Education Qualifications

      • Bachelor's Degree Library Science, information science, computer science or related discipline Required
      • Master's Degree Library Science Preferred

      Experience Qualifications

      • At least two (2) years related experience in a library setting. Required
      • At least two (2) years in a medical library setting. Preferred

      Skills and Abilities

      • Demonstrated facilitation and interpersonal communication skills
      • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and to maintain positive relationships with leaders and staff at all levels
      • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and implementing complex projects
      • Demonstrated ability to identify, organize and define problems and develop solutions
      • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly complex organizational environment
      • Excellent verbal and written skills

      Licenses and Certifications

      • Membership in the Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP) - Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP) - upon hire - Preferred or
      • Membership in the Medical Library Association - Medical Library Association - upon hire - Preferred
