      Description:


      Under the general direction of the Director of Medical Physics and physics staff, the Physics Assistant contributes to the organizational plan of the Radiation Oncology Department, to the quality of patient care, and supports the institutional vision and mission. The Physics Assistant coordinates, assists with and performs multiple technical tasks within the Radiation Oncology department. The Physics Assistant has responsibilities to assist in high-level quality assurance tasks, radiation safety related tasks, and departmental project coordination. Physics assistants also assists in minor equipment repairs and oversees vendor repair actions with appropriate training. Estimated pay range for this position is $36.06 - $46.88 / hour depending on experience.

      Qualifications:


      Degrees:

      • Bachelors degree is required.

      Additional Qualifications:

      • Bachelors degree in a physical science, engineering or RTT.
      • At the discretion and assessment of the Director of Physics, 10 to 12 years of additional relevant experience may serve in lieu of education requirements.
      • Possessing an understanding of clinical radiation therapy, clinical physics and/or dosimetry is preferred.
      • Technical capabilities with mechanical and electrical problem solving skills is preferred.
      • Above average computer skills relating to operational software systems/networking and strong problem solving skills is highly preferred.
