Provide a welcoming and professional reception service to all patients and visitors.
Answer incoming telephone calls, dealing with enquiries or directing calls appropriately.
Make, amend, and cancel patient appointments using the clinical system (EMIS Web).
Record and pass on messages accurately and in a timely manner.
Process repeat prescription requests and liaise with clinicians and pharmacies as needed.
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times in line with GDPR and practice policies.
File, scan, and retrieve medical records and documents using electronic systems.
Register new patients and update existing patient details.
Assist with incoming and outgoing post.
Support the clinical team with general administrative tasks as required.

Main duties of the job
As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for welcoming patients and visitors, booking appointments, handling telephone and face-to-face enquiries, processing prescriptions, and supporting the clinical and administrative teams to ensure the smooth running of the practice. You will use clinical systems to input and retrieve data, maintain confidentiality at all times, and work as part of a supportive and experienced reception team.
