Job summary
The medical receptionist must have the ability to provide cover, help and support to the patients and clinicians. An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality, together with excellent customer care and communication skills. This post is primarily for Greenmount Surgery but will be able to travel across to Danescourt Surgery when needed
Main duties of the job
Receive and make calls as required in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring names and site are provided to patients on answering the telephone. In line with practice protocols, responsible for dealing with queries made by practice patients and allocating calls to the appropriate member of the healthcare team. Answering patient queries regarding medical results. Update patients records e.g. telephone numbers and address on each contact.
Make appointments as necessary, ensuring the correct health care professional is booked with the correctly allocated time. Receive samples over the counter in line with practice policy, completing the pro-forma for all urine samples. Generate repeat prescription on request, ensuring this occurs within agreed timescales and accuracy with due dates. Undertake scanning duties in line with the reception rota and ensure completion on a daily basis and complete accuracy. Ensure the generic e-mail Practice account is checked and any actions completed daily.

Tarian Group is a organisation that covers 4 surgeries. 2 in Cardiff 2 in Aberdare. We offer a variety of services to patients across all sites. Team work is key to how we run our practices. Our Practice consists of 5 GP Partners, 1 Managing Partner, 3 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs 1 Practice Manager and 5 Admin Staff between the Cardiff Sites.
