Job summary
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, medical receptionist to join our reception team. Contracted hours would be 26.5 hours per week between 8am and 6.30pm- (set hours to be confirmed) plus the option of additional hours to cover staff absences.
Main duties of the job
Main duties are - meeting and greeting patients, booking patients in from triage, answering the telephone, processing prescription requests, registering new patients, deducting patients. The role includes a variety of admin tasks.

Garden Lane Medical Centre is a busy Chester City Centre Practice with a friendly team of 7 doctors, 6 nurses, healthcare assistant, GP Assistant and phlebotomist. There is a large, extremely helpful team of administration staff.

Job responsibilities
Principle responsibilities
Open and prepare the surgery for start of day
Work to reception protocols and procedures
Reception and routing of patients on arrival
Make appointments using the booking system either face to face or on the telephone
Book patients in from Patchs triage
Book requests for home visits
Process all requests for repeat prescriptions
Complete actions received on EMIS tasks, Docman and Lab Test Due report
Produce letters to send to patients using templates where required
Add registrations for new patients onto EMIS and update patient information
Run reports for home visits, contacts and deductions
Process payments from card/cash/cheques making necessary book entries
Distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail and transport to post office
Action emails received in the reception mailbox
Maintain a tidy waiting room and reception area for incoming colleagues and replenish stocks in clinical rooms
Complete end of day checks
