      Job summary

      The Pinner Road Surgery is a friendly, forward-thinking GP practice in Harrow. We are seeking a committed, enthusiastic and IT-confident individual to join our reception team. You will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing professional and courteous support to both patients and staff. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential. Experience in a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided.

      Main duties of the job

      As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and visitors. Your responsibilities will include providing administrative support to the clinical and non-clinical teams, coordinating front-desk activities, greeting patients, handling telephone queries, and managing correspondence.

      Main Duties of the Job

      • Greet and direct patients and visitors
      • Book, amend and cancel appointments via EMIS Web
      • Manage patient registrations (new, temporary and updates)
      • Handle incoming calls and manage the practice email inbox
      • Process incoming/outgoing mail and documentation
      • Scan, file and input patient-related data into EMIS Web
      • Support administrative requests from clinical staff
      • Respect and maintain patient confidentiality at all times

      The Pinner Road Surgery is a growing GP practice with a patient population of approximately 5,000. Our multidisciplinary team includes GPs, nurses, HCAs, mental health nurse, pharmacists and an experienced administrative team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, patient registration, booking appointments, processing of information (electronic and hard copy) and assisting patients as required. To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
