Job summary
The University Health Centre is looking to recruit a part time medical receptionist for 28.5 hours a week to join a busy friendly team. The hours in the first instance will be Monday 2-6pm, Tuesday 9-4pm, Wednesday 9.00-4.30pm, Thursday 9.00-4.30pm and Friday 2-6pm. The role will be to provide efficient and organised administrative support in reception in line with practice requirements and guidelines. It is essential that the candidate can demonstrate a willingness to learn and integrate quickly into a busy, fast moving environment. A good friendly personality is essential, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to multi task.
The ideal candidate will need to undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice.

We are a friendly GP Surgery situated on Swansea University's Singleton Campus. We provide GP Services mainly to the student population.
We have access to various specialist services such as a Mental Health Liaison Nurse, Cluster Pharmacist, Community Psychiatric Nurse, University's Wellbeing Dept, Physiotherapy and Audiology Services. Along with the services of the Social Prescriber who has a wide knowledge of the community and services which can be accessed to meet the needs of our patients.

The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the Practice team may include any or all of the items in the following list.
Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Senior Administrator and or the Practice Manager.
Opening up/locking up of practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with practice protocols.
The post holder will be the first point of contact between the patients and the clinical teams.
The post holder will deal with Digital requests.
The post holder will maintain an accurate filing system.
The post holder will provide repeat prescriptions on request
The post holder will maintain working knowledge of the Vision appointment system
The post holder will deal with any telephone enquiries in a respectful and friendly manner, ensuring correct details are recorded and forwarded to relevant personnel.
The post holder will need to deal with queries from doctors and patients on a daily basis.
The post holder will assist with scanning and filing of correspondence into patients medical records using Docman
Take accurate messages and pass on information appropriately
To be a flexible member of the team, providing cover for colleagues for annual leave and sickness as well as in busy times.
