The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Medical Records Review Consultant. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high quality, and member driven. These services empower individuals with developmental disabilities to lead self-directed, healthy, and meaningful lives.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona, based upon the departments business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

All work, including remote work, should be performed within Arizona unless an exception is properly authorized in advance.Job Duties: Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
● Comprehensive record review (medical, psychological, school, and other relevant documents) for the purpose of DDD eligibility determinations. Participates in the determination of eligibility for DDD services, administrative hearing preparation, court appearance, and testimony in eligibility disputes to represent the decision of the Division at administrative hearings.
● Develops and implements an effective behavior support process. This includes, but is not limited to education, participation and cooperation with respective program review committees and private oversight, collaboration with DDD Behavioral Health Services, consultation with treatment teams upon request or identified need.
● Liaison with community Psychologists and AHCCCS to ensure evidenced based practices, ensure quality services, ensure cost-effective services.
● Provides oversight, direction and critical evaluation of psychological policies and procedures for DDD and ensure compliance with AHCCCS policies and procedures.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge in:
● Current evidence-based practice, principles, techniques, and trends in psychology with additional expertise in the area of developmental disabilities.
● Methods of psychological assessment and testing modalities, their indications and interpretation.
● Current APA Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) criteria, Components of a Comprehensive Psychological Examination, and the Psychological Reports.
Skills in:
● Reviewing Psychological Evaluations for content, validity, and relevance.
● Generate conclusions and decisions from comprehensive report review in a timely manner.
● Interpersonal relations and communication.
Ability to:
● Review and interpret psychological assessment and testing modalities.
● Serve as a leader within the organization and with contracted agencies and/or providers.
● Provide effective training to enhance staff knowledge and skill level.Selective Preference(s): The ideal/preferred candidate will have:
● 2 years post-doctoral clinical experience. Membership in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) is desirable. Experience working with the Developmental Disability/Intellectual Disability (DDID) population preferred.Pre-Employment Requirements: ● Required at time of appointment: Candidate must be a licensed psychologist or physician (M.D. or D.O.) in good standing with the Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiners or Arizona Medical Board.
● Employee shall have a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-2758.07 in order to work with children and vulnerable adults.
● Candidates for this position shall be subject to a search of the Child Protective Services Central Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 8-804.
● If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver’s License Requirements. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
● Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.

Retirement: State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period.
