      Job summary

      Llandaff North Medical Centre is looking for a Clinical Coder/Summariser to join our multi-disciplinary team. You will summarise and read code relevant information from patients clinical records into the practice computer system, working strictly in accordance with the practice notes summarising protocol.We are flexible with sessions available and these can be negotiated with the suitable candidate.

      You will be supporting & supported by the wide range of clinical and non-clinical team within the practice.

      Main duties of the job

      We value precision, attention to detail and being able to work independently while being part of a supportive and patient-focused team. The candidate must have experience in a healthcare setting and be familiar with clinical I.T. systems. Knowledge of medical terminology is essential.

      Main duties include: Accurately summarising clinical notes and patient records into electronic medical records,ensuring all information is correctly inputted and formatted in compliance with healthcare standards, collaborate with clinicians to clarify any details required for accurate record-keeping, maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations and provide additional administrative support to the administration and reception team as needed.

      The working hours will fluctuate depending on the demands of the workload. You may be called upon to work during peak times or when additional support is required, with notice given in advance. This flexible working arrangement makes the role ideal for someone looking for variability in their schedule, while still providing meaningful contribution to the team.

      About us

      Llandaff North Medical Centre is a successful training practice located in Cardiff and provides healthcare to the surrounding population of around 6,500 people. The practice was built in 1997 and currently has 8 Doctors (3 partners, 4 salaried and 1 trainee GP), 2 practice nurses, 1 Healthcare Assistant and a range of administrative staff.

      The practice also has a range of NHS staff in the form of Health Visitors, Counsellors, Midwives, Pharmacist and community nurses who use our rooms to provide additional services to our patients.

      We are a friendly practice with good staff retention and a strong team working culture.
