      Job summary

      1. To provide Medical Secretary support to our Senior Medical Secretary
      2. To code all documentation including electronic that comes into the practice
      3. After training will be able to act as clinical coder, medical secretary, summarize patient records, care navigate patients.
      4. We are a friendly General Practice based in the centre of Pudsey LS28 7XP

      Main duties of the job

      To provide Medical Secretarial support to doctors and health professionals, dealing with DART forms and typing patient correspondence ie: referral/hospital letters, private referrals and miscellaneous reports and letters for third parties and assisting where possible with general clerical work.

      Telephone work ie: ring patients, hospitals, chase laboratory results, make patient appointments where appropriate, check Leeds Care Record, liaise with hospital departments. Enter admin notes on clinical system to record telephone conversations. Dealing with practice tasks.

      Ensuring patient documentation is clinically coded and filed into the patient's record.

      Summarizing patient records (Training provided)

      Job responsibilities

      Covering phones and reception when required

      Such other duties as may from time to time be agreed between the post holder and the Practice Manger or doctors to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
