      Job summary

      We are currently seeking a dedicated and organised Medical Secretary to join our friendly and supportive team at AMP Group, a well-established GP surgery. This role offers the opportunity to provide vital administrative support across various areas. As a Medical Secretary, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the practice by supporting our healthcare professionals and managing patient communication.

      This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing high-quality administrative support in a healthcare setting.

      Main duties of the job

      Main Duties of the Role:

      As a Medical Secretary, you will be responsible for a range of administrative tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the practice. Key duties include:

      • Managing Referrals: Processing and managing patient referrals to specialists, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately and promptly.

      • Preparing Letters: Drafting, typing, and sending patient letters, including appointment confirmations, medical reports, and correspondence to external healthcare providers.

      • Answering Patient Queries: Providing a professional and welcoming service, answering telephone calls, emails, and responding to general inquiries in a timely and efficient manner.

      • Liaising with Healthcare Providers: Communicating with external agencies, hospitals, and clinics to arrange tests, follow-ups, and consultations for patients.

      • Ad-Hoc Administrative Support: Providing support with various administrative tasks as required, including covering for colleagues on leave or sickness.

      In addition to these duties, the role requires a typing speed of at least 60-80 words per minute to handle the fast-paced nature of the role and ensure accuracy and efficiency when processing documents
