      Job summary

      We are looking for a dedicated individual to join an established and efficient team of Medical Secretaries working in a busy GP Practice.

      Offering secretarial support for 16000 patients, applicants must be hardworking and willing to go the extra mile. The workload is demanding and the successful candidate will need to enjoy a fast-paced environment, think on their feet and be flexible for office cover. The role requires someone with a keen eye for detail and proficient use of IT packages covering the Microsoft Office suite and clinical systems.

      Eastgate Medical Group is a GP practice based in Hornsea with other sites in Aldbrough (branch site) and Hull (Hastings Medical Centre). As part of the Symphonie PCN in Hull and the Yorkshire Coast and Wolds PCN in East Yorkshire, we are a forward thinking organisation striving to provide high quality patient care.

      The team is led by 9 GP-partners, supported by Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Nurse-Prescribers, Long-term Conditions Nurses and Healthcare Assistants.

      The clinical team is supported by well-trained Care Navigators and Administrators. The Hornsea and Aldbrough sites have in-house dispensaries.

      Job Purpose:

      To provide a comprehensive secretarial service to doctors, nurses, the Practice Manager and wider clinical and administrative team. To ensure that work is completed accurately and efficiently with all enquiries professionally and courteously handled whilst upholding confidentiality.

      Key Areas:

      Patient services; Secretarial Services to Clinicians and wider team

      Key Points:

      Managing referrals through the e-Referral system. Understanding referral routes and use of relevant forms and templates

      Carrying out assigned tasks from both clinical professionals and the wider team.

      Dealing with patient enquiries

      Inviting patients into the surgery to discuss the results of recent investigations

      Typing of clinical letters, patient referrals, non-NHS letters and reports

      Arranging and assisting with meetings including minute taking as required

      At all times observe the strict rules of confidentiality

      Familiarise yourself with the Staff Manual and follow practice policies and guidelines
