- Primarily office based role suing VDU
- Ability to cross site travel

Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, fast-paced operational team at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. We are looking for a proactive and positive individual with experience of working in an Medical Secretary role.
It is expected that applicants will have appropriate experience of working in an office environment, with the ability to liaise with all the relevant departments / clinical business units within the Trust. Strong line management and good leadership skills are essential.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills and will have the ability to forge and maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
The ability to manage a very busy workload is essential, as is the ability to quickly find solutions and to identify and focus on critical issues when decision making.
Main duties of the job
This post holder will work within the Planned Care Clinical Business unit and provide secretarial services across all of the Clinical Business Units within the Trust.
The post holder will be responsible for line managing the medical secretaries and support staff and for the delivery of the key performance indicators for the medical secretary services, ensuring dictation and clinical correspondence is produced in a timely manner and in line with ICB requirements.
The post holder will also ensure that resources within the service are managed efficiently and effectively and that the service provides the highest standard in relation to clinical correspondence and secretarial services.
