Main duties of the job
Demonstrate a professional and courteous manner
Acceptance for strict confidentiality.
Communicating effectively and courteously with all
To provide an efficient audio, copy typing and word processing service for GPs and health professionals as required
Make appointments, booking and hospital admissions as required
Maintain filling and administrative systems.
File patient records and correspondence in patient medical records
To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls to facilitate timely and appropriate communication.
Updating and maintenance of franking machine with postage
To provide cover secretarial/ administration team during periods of sickness and annual leave.
Recording written communication legibly and accurately
Efficiently planning and prioritising own workload.
Deal with general enquiries and verbal complaints
Monitor and action tasks via Emis Web.
Action 2 week referrals for patients.
Incident reporting via SIRMS (safeguard incident & risk management system)
Communicate effectively with the practice team
Deal efficiently with Solicitor requests, including payment and redacting of 3rdparty information
Resolve job related issues, including patient documentation and help resolve minor problems
Attend meetings when required
To work safely at all times in accordance with legislation and practice policies
Be flexible both in the availability and being able to cover for colleagues absent from work due to annual leave or sickness.
