- Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
- Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.
- Work under the general supervision of a Hospital Laboratory Supervisory Medical Technologist who provides initial guidance on areas of responsibility and priorities.
- Operate complex semi automated and automated equipment and performs calibration procedures, periodic operator maintenance tasks, troubleshooting procedures to identify the cause of malfunctions.
- Conduct necessary quality control procedures.
- Prepare different blood components to include splitting products for neonate transfusions using sterile welding procedures into special syringe components bags.
- Perform special coagulation testing including mixing studies and bleeding times.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
About the Position: This position is with Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital located at Fort Johnson, Louisiana.
