***This is a full-time position. Shift: 3-12’s with rotating weekends: 7:00AM-7:30PM Monday, Saturday, Sunday / Monday, Thursday, Friday***
JOB SUMMARY:
The Medical Technologist is responsible for accurately performing a variety of routine and complex laboratory tests and reporting results within the expected turnaround time to assist healthcare providers deliver the most optimal patient outcomes. Performs, as assigned, all required equipment maintenance, calibration and quality control testing per departmental procedures. Must be available to sign-up for on-call shifts and provide coverage for other shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: A minimum of one year experience working in the laboratory
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Lab Science, Biological Sciences or related field from an accredited college or university
Certification: ASCP certification required or eligible to take exam. Must successfully complete certification within 18 months of hire.
Special Skills: Professional demeanor, effective collaboration and communication skills ensuring teamwork with co-workers, nursing staff and physicians. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Above average problem solving and critical thinking skills.
