      Job summary

      An exciting role is now available working as part of the Medicine and Emergency Care Division Workforce Team. This post will proved adminition support to Medicine and Emergency Care Division in order to support effective day to day medical staffing. By working closely with our medical staff, the post holder will enable effective doctor cover across our medical wards and Emergency Department.

      Main duties of the job

      The main duties of the post include;

      • To undertake a key role in ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of day-to-day medical staffing administration across the Division.
      • To undertake effective communication with the medical workforce and Divisional management team in order to support the delivery of optimal rota and service cover.
      • To develop and maintain medical staffing expertise in liaison with the Trusts' central Medical Staffing and Education Service.in order to provide timely and appropriate advice and support.
      • To support the Service Manager and Clinical Director in fulfilling the Division's obligations to meet educational and legislative requirements for the medical workforce.

      • Develop a close working relationship with the Divisional Co-ordinator, Service Managers and consultants and assist with the identification and resolution of day-to-day operational problems so that appropriate cover is maintained and the needs of the service are met.
      • To plan the deployment of Divisional based medical staff ensuring that ground rules and procedures for annual and study leave, duty roster management and locum cover are adhered to, and provide monthly updates.
      • Support delivery of administration for the recruitment and appointment of doctors, ensuring procedures are undertaken so that employment legislation and standards, including Code of Practice deadlines for trainees, are achieved.
      • In conjunction with the Medical Staffing team, undertake required procedures for interface with preferred supplier locum agencies in order to ensure that the Trust is able to obtain locum resources at best cost and in line with NHSI and Trust directives.
      • Support the planning for the release of Trainee and Trust doctors to attend training events, both locally and regionally as required.
      • Maintain both manual and computerised administrative systems, ensuring information and reports can be retrieved easily on request.
