      Medicines Optimisation Pharmacy Technician (Community)

      Permanent, full time position

      Band 5 (£29,970 - £36,483)

      This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated, enthusiastic, self-motivated pharmacy technician to join our supportive and friendly Medicines Support Team and support our Self-Management Team within Locala.

      Main duties of the job

      The post-holder will work alongside pharmacy, nursing and other health care professionals to support and deliver effective medicines optimisation within Community Nursing Networks. We want to hear from you if you have experience, or an interest in medicines administration and medicines optimisation.

      We are looking for a registered pharmacy technician who demonstrates an excellent knowledge and understanding of medicines optimisation, safety, legislation and best practice and can apply these in a community setting. They will have outstanding interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to communicate with a range of colleagues and health care professionals. The role will provide a brilliant opportunity for the right candidate to develop their knowledge, skills and career as a pharmacy technician within community services.

      The successful candidate will be providing care to patients within their own homes so will need a full driving license and access to a vehicle. They will reconcile medicines, undertake some elements of clinical medication review, provide advice on medicines usage, and deliver education and support to patients and colleagues to maximise patients independence with their medicines.

      This is an innovative role, and we are hoping the right candidate will be able to support us with its growth. There will be various training available depending on the candidate. There may also be some opportunity for remote working.
