      Overview

      LRP Media Group is looking for a Meeting Planner to manage the logistics and all production for our two annual conferences.

      The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and have superior conflict-resolution skills. They will work cooperatively with our internal Marketing, Customer Service, Editorial, and Sales teams. This position offers an opportunity to use several different skills to negotiate pricing, plan, create, and manage nationally recognized conferences specializing in education administration and law, and federal employment.

      Responsibilities

      • Detailed planning, management, and production of two conferences
      • Manage logistics, expenses, and all production for events, including pre-meeting planning, budgeting, on-site management, and post-event reporting
      • Responsible for room set-ups, audio/visual arrangements, registration, telecommunications, food, and beverage selection, BEO/MEO review, conference signage, production fulfillment and shipping
      • Handle future site selection negotiations
      • Manage pre-, on-site, and post-event oversight of A/V vendors, telecommunication vendors, security firms, decorator service contractors, temporary staff agencies, and conference speakers
      • Serve as liaison with hotel/convention center reps and all LRP departments at the conference sites and work with the Conference Program Administrator on correspondence with speakers and conference chairs
      • Close collaboration with LRP marketing, customer service, and sales teams
      • Actively participate and lead regularly scheduled meetings between internal teams

      Position Requirements

      • 2 years of experience and proven success with all aspects of conference planning and production (pre-, on-site, and post)
      • 4+ years of experience in the hospitality/meeting planning industry
      • Strong computer skills, including high proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
      • Experience with Project Management software, preferably Wrike
      • Strong communication skills
      • Decision-making/critical thinking with high attention to detail
      • Self-motivated team player with strong organizational skills
      • Ability to develop a budget, negotiate pricing and manage it
      • Creating/implementing production schedules, BEOs, MEOs, room diagrams, and staff agendas/scripts
      • Ability to travel, including weekends (About 10-15%)
