      We are currently looking for a Melter in the Vim Melt Department at our Monroe, NC facility. As a Melter, you will play a critical role in the vacuum induction melting process by refining metals and alloys under vacuum for the removal of dissolved and chemical-bonded impurities that result in an end product that is clean and homogeneous.

      A successful Melter will need to demonstrate critical thinking skills, complex problem-solving skills, dependability, analytical thinking, troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.

      This position is night shift from 6pm to 6am, working on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule. You will work 2 days, have 2 days off, work 3 days; then 2 days off, work 2 days, the have 3 days off. Initial training will take place during the same shift.

      Additional Responsibilities:

      • Efficiently set-up and turn around one or more tank, operating and making necessary adjustments according to established procedures.
      • Demonstrate the ability to meet melt cycle times consistently on VIM tanks for which they have been trained.
      • Maintain accurate, complete, and legible logs, records, and charts.
      • Sample and make addback calculation based on specifications with some assistance.
      • Pour heats according to established procedures and assist with hot transfers.
      • Perform furnace changes, lead changes, and other basic maintenance on tanks for which they have been trained.
      • Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts and cranes.
      • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
      • Follow prescribed safety regulations, reporting any and all unsafe acts or conditions.

      Requirements

      Basic Qualifications:

      • High School Diploma or GED

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • At least one (1) year of manufacturing experience

      Skills:

      • Basic computer skills
      • Basic math skills
      • Analytical and problem-solving skills
