      Member Relationship Specialist- Desoto Branch

      Position Purpose and Objectives

      Currently, we are seeking a Member Relationship Specialist who will assist new and potential members in identifying membership and lending needs and delivering solutions to their financial needs.

      Major Duties and Essential Functions

      1. To “deliver an unexpected experience” by consistently providing outstanding service to internal and external members with every interaction.
      2. Uncover member needs by asking questions and provide solutions to their needs.
      3. Proactively discuss and refer additional products to internal partners.
      4. Process requests for memberships, depository accounts, loans, and account maintenance services.
      5. Regularly follow up with members to ensure that their financial needs are met and uncover any additional needs they may have.
      6. Responsible to meet or exceed established sales and service goals.
      7. Remain up to date on current products, services, and marketing campaigns through attending training, and remaining familiarity of all changes and disclosures.
      8. Remain compliant with all financial regulations including: BSA, OFAC, Reg CC, USA PATRIOT Act, etc. as they apply to the duties of the position.
      9. Maintain confidentiality of member information and other sensitive information.
      10. Promote strategic initiatives and objectives throughout the Credit Union to help meet set goals.
      11. Enhance organization wide communication.
      12. Motivate fellow staff to meet or exceed set goals.
      13. Seek to understand and appreciate different perspectives and employee feedback from other departments.

      Education : High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

      Experience : Minimum 1-2 years or more of similar or related experience.

      Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

      Mathematical Ability: The level of ability required to perform math skills and operations.

      Basic

      Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

      Language Ability: The level of ability required to communicate and understand written and oral language.

      Typical

      Ability to use passive vocabulary of 7,000-9,000 words; read at a fast-paced rate; and define unfamiliar words in dictionaries for meaning, spelling, and pronunciation. Ability to write moderate to complex documents. Ability to communicate in complex sentences, using normal word order with present and past tenses and strong vocabulary. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
