Liaising with the Provost Office and University legal team on MOU language agreement
Regularly maintain and update the master MOU list of 350+ CA districts as needed
Organize and maintain the SOE MOU Google Shared Drive
Keep a log of district/school/organization contacts
Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports
Expand relationship with districts across the state of California
Advise candidates with a continuous focus on valid partnerships, personal wellness, and student retention and graduation rates.
Analyze feedback data to identify trends and potential solutions for all four MOU partnership types
Support candidate in upcoming courses required to have an MOU in place to suffice expectation for candidate’s academic plan
Continually seek ways to improve service to staff and faculty by developing new initiatives or success measures that will contribute to MOU/Intern announcements, updates, and expiration dates
Monitor candidate MOU and intern status
Regularly update intern tracker spreadsheet
Track intern SMS hours and send reminders to candidates who have not logged sufficient hours
Facilitate intern support assignment meetings. Communicate assignments to candidates each quad.
Track intern registration/enrollment in intern support course
Support intern faculty with administration duties as needed
Notify the candidate’s field experience coordinator of any potential issues or upcoming expirations for partnerships with utilized districts
Ensure the Pre-MOU process is up to date and being updated before MOU expiration
Manage candidate progression and strategically provide ongoing support to candidates resulting in increased retention
Develop and provide appropriate intervention for districts not interested in MOU renewal
Handle confidential student information with tact, discretion, and in compliance with FERPA regulations.
Ensure current and future MOUs are all align with appropriate regulations
Serve as an ambassador for PLNU School of Education’s emerging programs.
Represent the SOE in various settings, including internal collaboration with university offices as well as external partners, such as districts, community-based agencies, and state and professional associations that will enhance the programs and services of the SOE.
Identify and assess existing programs and services for the PLNU SOE, including school-based opportunities as well as partnerships across the university and with community agencies.
Develop and implement a strategic plan for the growing array of programs and services available to alumni and local educational professionals, including a budget and calendar of events.
Create, coordinate, and implement partner recognition activities.
Liaise and foster intentional relationships with other institutional departments and school districts
Maintain accurate records (including electronic records) of interactions with students
Stay abreast of changing institutional and accreditation information, including admissions requirements, new programs, course changes, deadlines, important dates, costs, expanding facilities, updates in college-wide initiatives, transfer requirements, and state and federal mandates
Engage in professional development activities, including but not limited to memberships in professional organizations; attendance at conferences, workshops, division, and department training sessions; stay current with information technology skills
Serve as a resource for faculty
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge: This position requires a broad knowledge of college- and district-level services. This includes basic financial aid, registration, and retention best practices. The SOE MOU/Intern Coordinator must maintain current knowledge of CTC regulations (including pre-conditions), degree/credential requirements, SOE policies, and PLNU policies.
Skills: The position requires well-developed communication and organizational skills and the interpersonal relationship skills appropriate for regular interaction with diverse audiences, populations, and individuals. This also includes the ability to maintain a healthy relationship with districts across the state of California.
Abilities: The ability to interact and work effectively and harmoniously with university staff, faculty, and candidates. Adept at using technological tools to efficiently monitor and provide information, manage data, and collaborate with others.
Bachelor’s degree required
Master’s degree preferred
Must have strong customer service skills
An articulate, professional demeanor
Ability to exercise professional judgment relating to unusual circumstances
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team and assume responsibility for problem-solving
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, able to keep track of multiple projects and deadlines

Job Summary:
The MOU/Intern Coordinator is responsible for advising Field Experience Coordinators on the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) status for fieldwork, student teaching, and teaching internships. The coordinator deals with complex issues regarding MOU progress, verbiage changes, and updating appropriation tracker statuses to reflect these types of updates. This position requires an in-depth understanding of academic information, contractual legalities, and support services in order to facilitate the direct impacts to the University’s partnership retention rates. The SOE MOU Coordinator communicates with SOE faculty and staff to implement the announcements of partnerships and any important updates regarding ongoing placements. The School of Education (SOE) MOU/Intern Coordinator is expected to be an expert on academic policies, student support services, credential requirements, and California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) regulations as related to internship. They attend meetings related to internship, disseminating information gained at those meetings to all pertinent stakeholders. They track current interns to ensure each candidate is being supported in a manner consistent with CTC regulations and relay that support to the candidates.
Salary: Pay Range $20.17 - $21.79 per hour (annualized $41,953.60 - $45,323.20)
Actual salary offered is determined by the candidate’s experience, education, skills, and other factors, including internal equity and university funding resources.

The work is primarily sedentary and may require sitting for extended periods of time. Use of computer equipment: computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Ability to stand, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 20 lbs throughout the day.
