Job Summary
The Director of Basketball Operations assists the Head Coach in the administration of all aspects of the sport program including recruiting; contest scheduling; supervising sports personnel; coordinating its travel itineraries; managing the budget; coordinating logistics including team meals, buses, video and meeting rooms, and film exchange; and ensuring program compliance with NCAA, Conference, and University rules and regulations.
The Director of Basketball Operations will embrace and model a positive coaching philosophy and associated techniques, insisting on a culture of respect and positive communication. Furthermore, the Director of Basketball Operations will demonstrate an on-going commitment to the principles of multiculturalism and diversity through hiring practices, training and development programming, campus collaborations, or involvement and participation in university/divisional multiculturalism and diversity projects or initiatives.

The ideal candidate in this position must be an energetic and motivated individual with strong organizational skills and can do the following:
Supervisory Responsibility
This position monitors the student athletes well as the support staff.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment; this position requires you to use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printers, etc.
Physical Demands
While performing this job's duties, the employee must stand for extended periods of time.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full time
8:00am – 6:00pm (Hours will vary)
Travel
Travel is local and national – required to travel for recruiting purposes and during competition season.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual salary range for this position is $87,000 - $100,000. St. John’s University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
This position may be relocated to any of St. John’s University’s physical locations at any time.
