      Position Summary

      As a member of the multi-disciplinary stepped-care Eating Disorders Program, the Mental Health Clinician provides evidence-based treatment and psychoeducation in an outpatient clinic setting.

      Duties

      • Providing individual standardized Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy-Enhanced for Eating Disorders (CBT-E)
      • Providing individual psycho-education for trauma
      • Co-facilitating psychotherapy groups, as assigned (e.g., Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Substance Use Disorders, Skills Coaching)
      • standardized assessment of eating disorders and other key mental health symptoms
      • Performing departmental responsibilities to contribute to the efficient and effective provision of services
      • Participating in relevant research activities

        Qualifications

        • Completion of a Masters degree program in Health and/or Social Sciences, with three (3) years practical and related experience or at minimum, a completion of a Bachelor’s degree program in Health and/or Social Sciences, with 8 to 10 years practical and related experience recognized equivalent
        • Registration licensure with an Ontario professional body whose members are authorized to independently perform the controlled act of psychotherapy (CNO, CRPO, OCSWSSW, CPO, COTO, etc)
        • Experience working with individuals with eating disorders, substance use, depression, trauma and/or serious mental illness, providing evidence-based treatment (i.e., CBT; DBT)
        • Training/Certification in CBT preferred
        • Training/Certification in DBT considered an asset
        • Proven knowledge of the mental health continuum of care
        • Excellent problem-recognition and solution-focused skills
        • Experience working effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, an asset
          • Proven ability to effectively provide treatment in a culturally-sensitive manner
