Job Description

Master's degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of post-masters clinical experience supporting clients in a therapeutic setting.
Professional Membership in good standing with OCSWSSW or CRPO.
Previous experience supporting clients in a limited number of sessions with various presenting concerns, including mental health, addictions, work related stress, etc..
Familiarity with EAP programs and services.
Confidential office space available to support in-person EAP/WSP referrals or ability drive on-site to support CI referrals.
Knowledge of community resources.
Flexible to learn new counselling software and case management systems.
Valid professional liability insurance.
Certification or training in Solution Focused Therapy.
Knowledge of clinical assessment tools with experience conducting substance abuse assessments & mental health assessments.
Ability to assess all types of psycho-social disorders and develop treatment plans.
Experience supporting mandated clients.
Experience working in an inpatient/outpatient substance abuse treatment facility.
Training in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM).
Experience providing group counselling/ debriefing/ defusing support.
Good knowledge of different work environments and organizational structure.

What opportunities are available as an affiliate provider with TELUS Health?
Employee Assistance Plan (EAP): Engage in solution-focused therapy, supporting a range of clients dealing with various presenting concerns. Referrals managed in person directly from your private practice.
Workplace Support Programs (WSP): A group of programs designed to address mental health concerns in the workplace. Our WSP services offers the industry's earliest intervention into employee mental health issues that require a solution beyond short-term EAP support or as part of a disability case management treatment plan. Counsellors provide in-person or virtual assessment and counselling to support an individual's return to healthy productivity.
Critical Incident (CI) Support: Provide on-site counselling/consult to organizational clients in the immediate aftermath of a traumatic worksite or community event. Perform a preliminary assessment of the critical incident and implement a post-traumatic intervention by interacting with internal and external clients and affiliated professionals.
