      We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse - Inpatient Unit to join our Primary Care team at HMP Belmarsh, a category A Prison located in Woolwich.

      Belmarsh is a Category A High security male prison based in Woolwich in South East London. It houses 792 patients and has 48 single cells.

      Hours

      3 or 4 day weeks across the 7 days - 37.5 hours per week.

      Salary

      This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £43,756 per annum FTE - depending on experience

      Main duties of the job

      As a Mental Health Nurse - Inpatient Unit, your responsibilities will vary. You will

      • Work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options.
      • Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed.
      • Assess patients health needs using an evidence based framework and be able to risk assess use sound clinical knowledge. You will contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to;
      • Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
      • Work with individuals providing advice, support and information and manage a case load of patients. Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference.

      • Qualified Mental Health Nurse
      • Current NMC registration
      • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
      • Experience of working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions
      • Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work and awareness of substance misuse
      • Sound clinical knowledge and assessment skills including risk assessment
      • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
