Job Description

- Assign a diagnosis in accordance with the criteria set forth in the DSM-IV TR. Makes appropriate referrals for additional consumer services both internally and externally.
- Screen consumers who wish to initiate or resume services.
- Provide outpatient clinic-based individual and family psychotherapy services as well as crisis management interventions
- Develop and conduct group therapy with consumers and/or family members.
- Develop treatment plans based on assessment of treatment needs conducted by clinician, psychiatrist, and nursing staff.
- Participate in required SCDMH/SWCMHC in-service training and other professional training opportunities to develop and enhance clinical skills and professional knowledge.
- Provides back-up services for emergencies and provides other clinic services as needed. Travel throughout the Santee-Wateree catchment area as directed.

This position is located at the SC Dept. of Mental Health at Santee-Wateree Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) in the Camden Clinic located on 2611 Liberty Hill Road, Camden, SC.
Responsibilities for this Mental Health Professional I, includes but are not limited to:
State Min. T&E – A master’s degree and professional experience in human services or social services program.
DMH Min. T&E (Internal) – A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences.
Note: If any Agency Requirements are listed above, applicants must also meet those requirements to be considered for the position.
Prefer candidates licensed/ eligible to be licensed as LPC, LMSW, LISW, LMFT, and/or CAC-I/II Certification.

Santee-Wateree CMHC is also an approved site of the National Health Service Corps, (NHSC), which offers student loan repayment of up to $50,000 to employees of NHSC-approved sites.
