These positions are full-time, permanent, classified positions which are represented by a union.
The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Oregon State Hospital (OSH) has multiple career opportunities for Mental Health Security Technicians for multiple shifts in Salem, Oregon to provide a variety of security and other support services to the programs and departments at the Oregon State Hospital.
The Oregon State Hospital provides patient-centered, psychiatric treatment for adults from throughout the state who need hospital-level care. Our primary goal is to help people recover from their illness and return to the community. Our services include psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment, as well as community outreach and peer support. Watch “Welcome to the Oregon State Hospital” video here.
What will you do?
The purpose of this position is to provide a variety of security and other support services to the programs and departments at Oregon State Hospital. Employees in this position assist with admissions, provide campus security, process mail, assist with emergency services, provide transportation for patients/residents, assist with patient related activities, Law Enforcement Data System reports and information
Work Location: Oregon State Hospital, Salem. Onsite.

Minimum Qualifications
One year of experience providing security services.
OR
One year of experience providing direct care to patients in a mental health setting.
NOTE: Driving state vehicles on a regular basis is required to accomplish this work. Incumbents must possess a valid driver's license, issued by the state where the employee resides, and possess and maintain an acceptable driving record throughout the course of employment.
