      About the Role

      Mental Injury Specialists are responsible for designing, implementing, and leading DXC Claims Management Services mental health program. This is a varied role which will involve aspects of providing training, both internally and externally, to improve the capability of DXC Integrated Services Claims staff and our clients; identifying and addressing gaps in claims management; and employer engagement on claims activities and preventative health measures.

      • Facilitate claims assessments, risk reviews, develop plans and strategies to define barriers and capacities, and provide additional support to internal staff and external clients and healthcare professionals
      • Planning, implementing, and evaluating programs which are designed to meet individual needs
      • Support case managers on return-to-work performance for psychological injury claims
      • Participate in THP case conferences and assist with the implementation of claims management strategies
      • Coaching and development of claims staff to improve capability and to create a positive and psychologically healthy workplace
      • Base level claims work plus project work which is self-driven and self-structured

      To be successful in the role;

      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
      • Specialised in the management of psychological injuries
      • Coaching and development of staff and leadership skills
      • Knowledge or experience in Workers Compensation desirable
      • The ability to adapt to different situations and driven to achieve outcomes
      • Ability to diffuse and deescalate situations
      • Negotiation and influencing skills
      • Formal qualifications and experience in a relevant Allied Health profession e.g. Psychologist, Rehabilitation Counsellor, Mental Health Nurse, Counselling
      • Knowledge of medical and paramedical terminology and procedures, including the forms of treatment applicable to psychological injuries
