What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Respond to Code Gray alerts and other crises by securing patients and supporting staff
- Complete crisis intervention and prevention training and apply techniques as needed
- Assist with patient assessments, discharge planning, and documentation
- Conduct safety checks on patient belongings and visitors to remove hazardous items
- Provide basic physical care and perform tasks delegated by registered nurses
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree; AND one year as a Mental Health Specialist I, or equivalent; experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis
- Valid/Active Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) or Nursing Assistant Registration (NAR) with the state of Washington prior to employment
- Must include NAC or NAR credential number on resume
- Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration
