- Under the direction of an RN is responsible for patient safety, welfare, and the implementation of therapeutic milieu and treatment plans.
- Serve as a patient observer on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require any degree of observation in order to maximize patient safety.
- Perform general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficiency of the nursing unit.
- Provides direct clinical care to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse or other licensed clinical personnel.
- Serves as a Nurse Technician or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in behavioral health performing the duties expected of an incumbent.
- Observes and records patient behavior and activities. Reports any changes in physical, mental or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggests modifications to the treatment plan.
- Provides crisis intervention with incoming calls and on the unit to maintain safety.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and patient friendly work environment; ensure supplies are stocked and available.

- High school diploma or equivalent Required
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field preferred
- Four (4) years of related experience in the mental health field preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred
- Handle with Care Certification or CPI within 90 days of hire
- One (1) year of mental health experience in Mental Health Technician or similar function is preferred
