Central to our organization is an industry leading team that strives to help all families discover the joy of everyday life. This team is empowered by a culture that values Inclusivity, Connection, and Drive as We Care, Grow, and Win Together! Our Merchandising Function continues evolving at an incredible pace. Despite our immense size and scale as a $90+ billion retailer, we constantly reimagine our business to enhance and improve the experiences of our guests -- however they choose to shop – while optimizing our Financial Results.

We elevate Target as the premier retailer in a competitive global marketplace by delivering exceptional value, quality and style. Merchandising works across product categories to create a localized shopping experience online and in our nearly 1900 stores through dynamic, creative, and progressive business strategies that make the most of Target’s resources and partnerships worldwide.

Are you a creative problem solver who loves to see your work translate into transformational results? Do you collaborate effectively, execute a plan efficiently and positively influence difficult choices faced with competing priorities? If so, you will have success on one of our dynamic teams.

A role in Food & Beverage Planning means being they key connection between optimal results and the business decisions made to achieve them. By applying deep Financial Acumen to forward-looking and thoughtful forecasts, you will conduct comparative analysis of performance and provide key insights that help Buyers decide which products we will carry, how much the Inventory team will buy, and how we create meaningful promotional and display events to inspire our guests to enjoy them.

As a Food & Beverage Merchandise Planner, you will join a remarkable team that invests in and supports each other. You will be assigned to a business unit, including Buyers, Inventory Analysts, and functional experts that, together with external supplier partners, collaborate effectively to deliver industry leading guest experiences and financial results. Within your team of Planning peers, you will have access to creative and brilliant team members with whom you will connect to compare ideas, methodology, and approach. These relationships will fuel, elevate, and empower your core contribution as you predict possible outcomes of the future for your assigned Merchandising product classes. You will leverage this perspective to influence strategies and plans for future seasons, and for tactical in-season choices as the variables influencing demand fluctuate. This influence includes defining the products that we carry, where we carry them, when we carry them, how we display and promote them, and how deeply we buy into them.

In a business as large and complex as Target’s, your financial and analytical acumen must be complemented by many other skills and qualities. As we grow our business, we look to the future with optimism while balancing it with a healthy skepticism which acknowledges that achieving greatness will require creativity, resourcefulness, and cross-functional commitments to excellence. We value testing and experimentation within our business to accelerate what we learn about our guests and their demand, thus enabling our Merchandising Teams to take objective and calculated risks to differentiate Target within the market as we reinforce our durable business model. Taking these risks inherently means that we don’t get it right all the time. We strive to be right more frequently and in bigger ways, while celebrating the moments when we miss with curiosity, supporting each other, and demonstrating resilience.
