      PURPOSE
      This position is responsible for assisting the Director of New Stores & Visual Merchandising (NSVM) to develop, build and communicate strategies that will solidify the company as the industry leader in hard surface flooring. The position supports the new store and remodel merchandising process and is responsible for space planning and allocation (including the creation of planograms), assortment analysis, report development, inventory management, and overall organization and management of information. This multifunctional position will require extensive partnership with the company’s Regional Merchandising, Store Operations, Inventory, and Buying Teams.

      MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Assist Director, NSVM, in assorting and planogramming new stores and major remodels
      • Analyze assortments across multiple stores, including retail sales and square feet penetration, SKU level merchandising detail (price, size, color, style), and on-hand inventory levels
      • Utilize data from analysis to assort new stores and major remodels
      • Ensure that current visual guidelines and strategies are followed in assortment planning and store layout
      • Review pricing for new stores, partnering with Regional Merchants to ensure market-level pricing is followed
      • Research and provide solutions for all inventory issues in regards to merchandising new stores
      • Create reports, spreadsheets, and planograms for new store and major remodel merchandising process
      • Present findings from analysis to Regional Merchandising and Buying teams for review and approval
      • Work with Director NSVM on ad-hoc reports and analysis as needed
      • Travel to stores with Director NSVM as needed


      MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

      • Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of job-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company. Additional relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education.
      • Highly developed interpersonal skills for dealing with multi-constituents
      • Excellent analytical, decision making, planning and organizational skills
      • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
      • Excellent organizational skills and able to effectively prioritize projects
      • Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure
      • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
      • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)


      WORKING CONDITIONS (TRAVEL, HOURS, ENVIRONMENT)

      • Limited travel required including air and car travel
      • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.


      PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
      Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
