POSITION SUMMARY:
Effectively manage all merchandising communication to stores under the Fielmann USA banner. Create purchase orders for vendors and engage in direct communication with vendor community as it relates to costs and assortments. Work with buying team to create and maintain clear direction on how to display frames in stores. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure communication is clear with current stores, new stores and acquisitions. Create and maintain merchandising content for stores and our vendor community. Accurately maintain all data content needed for stores and ecommerce.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
BUYER SUPPORT
• Create purchase orders for frames
• Maintain frame location guides
• Partner cross-functionally for new product set up
• Responsible for accurate and timely updates of frame images and copy on ecommerce
• Manage planogram maintenance monthly
• Recap Open To Buy (OTB) financials monthly
• Create material content for and maintain an intranet platform to share merchandising tools with stores
• Support buyer initiatives to accomplish goals
• Support Inventory process
• Perform inventory at the corporate office twice annually and document results
• Collect and track vendor allowances
• Maintain record of vendor agreements
• Support planning and execution of annual corporate conference
• Manage frame sample inventory and tracking
CENTER COMMUNICATION
• Manage Merchandising email inbox’s
• Create memos to communicate merchandising information to stores
• Manage Merchandising binders with up-to-date information
VENDOR COMMUNICATION
• Communicate all vendor information to finance; terms change, P&A contracts, inventory details
• Direct contact with frame vendors relating to cost, styling and shipping details
• Track shipments to ensure on time delivery utilizing Open To Buy (OTB) spreadsheet
• Lead the communication process for annual corporate conference
• Audit vendor statements to ensure accuracy of costs and terms
OPTICAL LAB SUPPORT
• Develop recall documentation and provide to lab for processing
• Create store specific planogram documentation and provide to lab for processing
• Assist in processing orders and/or recalls when necessary
NEW STORES/ACQUISITIONS
• Create checklists for all new/acquisition stores based on specific need
• Build store specific merchandising manual to include planograms, memos and specific layouts
• Order all contact fit trials, track by vendor and store
• Order Maui Jim retail fixture. Set up communication and training
• Develop communication on new store details and distribute to vendors
• Coordinate new store training with vendors and communicate details to stores
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
• Associate degree in Business Management or related field or equivalent work experience
• 2 years’ experience in retail merchandising/buying office environment
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
• Able to create accurate and professional correspondence
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects while meeting different deadlines
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across other departments
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail
• Able to thrive within a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & WORK REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization through written and two-way verbal communication
• Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Able to operate various office equipment (e.g., personal computer, telephone, fax machine, copier, etc.)
• Able to read and write at a high school graduate level
• Able to lift 10 to 20 pounds
• Able to view/read computer screen for extended periods of time
• Able to work normal and/or extended (evenings, nights, and weekends) office hours to meet established deadlines
• Able to travel independently to support Company objectives and personal development; overnight travel required
