      Job Summary

      The MES Support Specialist will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of the MES/ERP applications that primarily support our manufacturing operations.


      Duties/Responsibilities

      • Provide 24/7 support: Respond promptly to technical issues and incidents related to the production shop floor software, ensuring continuous operations and minimizing downtime. This may require being on-call or working in shifts.
      • Troubleshoot software issues: Investigate and diagnose problems reported by shopfloor personnel or identified through system monitoring tools. Analyze log files, error messages, and user feedback to identify the root cause of issues and develop effective solutions.
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with production managers, software developers, and IT personnel to resolve complex software issues. Collaborate on software upgrades, system integrations, and process improvements to enhance the overall efficiency and reliability of the shopfloor software.
      • Provide technical guidance and training: Assist shopfloor personnel in understanding and effectively using the software systems. Develop and deliver training materials, user guides, and knowledge-base articles to facilitate self-service troubleshooting and user empowerment.
      • Maintain documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of software configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and incident resolutions. Ensure that the knowledge base is up to date and accessible to all stakeholders, enabling efficient knowledge sharing and problem-solving.
      • Perform software testing and validation: Participate in software testing activities, including creating test scenarios, conducting functional and regression tests, and providing feedback to the development team. Validate software patches, updates, and new releases before deploying them to the production environment.
      • Continuous improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and suggest enhancements to the shopfloor software systems. Collaborate with the development team to implement these improvements and contribute to the evolution of software support practices.


      Requirements

      • Bilingual English and Chinese are a MUST.
      • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
      • 2+ years of experience in supporting MES, ERP, and SAP systems.
      • Strong knowledge of shopfloor software systems, production processes, and manufacturing environments.
      • Proficiency in troubleshooting software issues and performing root cause analysis.
      • Familiarity with Nginx, Apache, Tomcat, and other web application server deployment, optimization, and monitoring.
      • Understanding of the deployment and optimization of database clusters such as MSSQL/SQL Server.
      • Familiarity with writing operation and maintenance scripts, with preferred development capacity.
      • Familiarity with automated configuration tools, such as Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins, and other tools.
      • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
      • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
      • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
      • Flexibility to work on-call or in shifts as needed to provide 24/7 support.
      • Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is highly preferred to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking shopfloor personnel.
      • May occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
