      Summary
      Responsible for connection and disconnection of water services for the City of Temple. Completes work orders as issued by the Utility Business Office. Demonstrates professionalism, courtesy, and tact when interacting with customers. Regular attendance and punctuality is required for this position.


      Essential Duties and Responsibilities

      • Connects and disconnects water service as assigned; to include both customer-requested transactions and delinquent account processing
      • Completes work orders fully and accurately
      • Assists in other areas of the department by helping with meter leaks, meter reads, meter changes as assigned
      • Communicates professionally with the public and internal City staff
      • Follows the city policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
      • Performs other duties as assigned

      Minimum Qualifications

      • High School diploma or equivalent
      • One year of meter experience with City of Temple

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience in a plumbing, mechanical or related field
      • Experience in water meter operations and repair

      Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

      • Valid driver’s license
      • Class D water license
