Job Description
- Req#: 138196
- Responsible for the execution of various manufacturing engineering functions including manufacturing process development and support, product introduction, manufacturing project management of small projects, as well as general manufacturing support, troubleshooting, and team participation
- These activities and responsibilities also include tool designing, leadership of process improvement and implementation and will vary depending on the location, and process expertise (machining, fabrication, assembly, etc.).
- Work closely with Tool Makers and Builders to ensure optimum manufacturing and build techniques are applied to the mechanical designs
- Work closely with Electrical Engineers to apply appropriate controls technology into the mechanical designs
- Work with Vendors to procure purchased components that fit specifications for mechanical applications
- This position will work closely with other manufacturing functions such as manufacturing engineering, production control, quality engineering, purchasing, safety, environmental, and manufacturing management to develop and implement solutions consistent with the goals of the Company
- Other duties as assigned
- 8-15 years related experience
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Must have valid driving privileges
- Occasional travel (0-5%)
- Occasional overnight stays (0-5%)
- Certain technical skills and training such as CNC programming, CAD layout, geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T), process capability theory and statistical process control (SPC) may be required.
- Must demonstrate good communication skills amongst shop floor, support staff, and plant leadership.
- Must be able to lead and execute small teams and projects.
- Requires good organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to train others
